In a significant achievement, the Cotabato Provincial Government has received an outstanding 98% efficiency rating in a recent electricity conservation survey conducted by the Department of Energy (DOE) under the Government Energy Management Program.
This comprehensive on-site audit, performed in accordance with Republic Act No. 11285, commonly known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act, was carried out by DOE's Energy Utilization Management Bureau in collaboration with representatives from the Westco Electrical and Equipment Corporation.
Leading the survey team was Genevieve Almonares, an accomplished DOE energy auditor, who meticulously evaluated the energy consumption patterns at the Cotabato Provincial Capitol Complex, located in Barangay Amas, Kidapawan City.

The Power of Energy Efficiency Audits
Energy Efficiency Audits are comprehensive assessments that dive deep into your energy usage patterns, infrastructure, and systems. They are designed to identify areas of inefficiency and waste within your operations. These audits offer a multifaceted approach to addressing critical concerns such as:
1. Operational Cost Reduction: By pinpointing energy wastage and proposing efficiency improvements, an Energy Efficiency Audit can help you cut operational costs significantly. Every dollar saved on energy expenses goes directly to your bottom line.
2. Regulatory Compliance: In today's world, regulations around energy usage and environmental impact are constantly evolving. Staying compliant is not only a legal requirement but also a way to demonstrate your commitment to responsible business practices.
3. Mitigating Energy Cost Increases: The volatile nature of energy markets can put pressure on your profitability. An audit can uncover opportunities to insulate your organization from the impact of rising energy costs, providing financial stability.
4. Asset Optimization: Frequent unplanned downtimes due to equipment failures can be costly and disruptive. An Energy Efficiency Audit can identify maintenance and optimization strategies to ensure your assets run smoothly, reducing downtime.
5. Environmental Responsibility: Demonstrating environmental responsibility is not just a moral imperative; it's also a way to attract environmentally conscious customers and partners. Energy efficiency measures can significantly reduce your carbon footprint.
